SGU: Icarus

An unreleased prequel comic to Stargate Universe, written by Tory Mell.

Set in the years after SG-1, the Asgard entrusted humanity with their knowledge, but rather than keep it in one place, they scattered it across trusted allies throughout the galaxy. Icarus follows Colonel Everett Young and the SG teams as the Lucian Alliance launches a coordinated campaign to hunt down and seize every piece of that Asgardian knowledge before Earth can, a race that sets the stage for the search for a ninth-chevron address and the ship that will eventually become the Destiny.

I was hired by American Mythology to write a run on Stargate: Universe many moons ago. A dream project of mine since Stargate: SG1 is one of my all time favorite T.V. shows. I wrote the full outline for Issues 1-3, bullet points for issues four and five. All green lit to move forward, I started writing the script for issue one when the email came in that MGM wasn’t moving forward with the book. There was some insane drama involved, but after a bunch of back and forth with the studio the book was dead in the water. I was so beyond heartbroken. I never finished the script.

Attached, you can read the outline for the whole story and up to page five of the comicbook script. This was such a rad story; maybe someday it will return.

A full outline and the complete script for Issue 1, “Young Guns,” are both available to read below.
