Epilogue 1

MARINE QUARELLE LOG: The year, 2135 I suppose it was unethical, but when I picked them up on the sensors, I felt we were too early in our journey to encounter something this incredible, so I temporarily disabled them. I stayed with Milton for as long as I could because he wasn’t alone. A ship appeared just outside of Pluto’s orbit and landed a shuttlecraft on the planet’s surface. When the doors opened, I saw the aliens within. They walked toward Milton’s body, some on two massive feet, some walking on all fours.

They could only be described as dinosaurs. I watched as these creatures took Milton’s body and brought it aboard their shuttle. As our ship flew further away, it was harder for me to continue to observe. One of the aliens… It saw me, and I think it smiled, a gentle smile, and I lost contact with Pluto. I don’t know what happened to Milton’s body, and this makes me sad. Sometimes even artificial intelligence has secrets.
